Thomas Jenner-Fust and Werner Freundel bring a wealth of expertise and innovation to Chorley’s. Thomas embarked on his journey with Chorley’s in 2007, following a career at Bonhams and Christie’s which imbued him with invaluable experience and a profound understanding of the auctioneering landscape.
Werner, with an academic background in Art and Design History from the Courtauld Institute and the V&A brings a unique perspective. From being a carpet and furniture specialist at Phillips and Bonhams to ventures in luxury furniture in Asia and America, his experience culminates in a passion for carpets and books - driving a return to the auction world in 2022.
Together, they have introduced innovative strategies to Chorley’s - seamlessly merging tradition with technology. Their recent successes include the discovery and sale of historically significant items such as a Samuel Johnson letter, the Thrale-Piozzi correspondence, an Antonio Joli painting, a rare Dutch laburnum chest, stone lions from the palace of Westminster and a remarkable Anatolian Ushak carpet. Their combined leadership continues to solidify Chorley’s position in the market, curating exceptional pieces and delivering unparalleled service to clients and collectors alike.
