808 STATE: G‑MEX STAGE CAMERA ORIGINAL (BETACAM SP) A rare and historically important stage‑camera Betacam SP production tape from 808 State at G‑MEX, filmed during the height of the Madchester and early rave era. Recorded on Sony BRS KCA‑60BRS stock and housed in the original matching production container, this tape originates from the same Factory‑era production workflow as the Happy Mondays G‑MEX archive. Content & Significance Stage cameras provide close‑up performance detail, tight band shots, lighting tests, and essential sync reference for multi‑camera editing. Raw stage‑camera footage of 808 State is exceptionally scarce, with most surviving material existing only as broadcast edits. This tape represents authentic, unedited source material from a pivotal moment in the band’s history. Provenance Acquired directly from Kathy Skelly, partner of Mark Simmons, who handled Factory Records video production assets. This provenance places the tape firmly within the original Factory production chain.
