Alexander Ritchie Iona Sterling Silver Celtic Sword Letter Opener - Used Condition. 78.5 grams - A sterling silver letter opener in the form of a Celtic sword, designed by Alexander Ritchie of Iona and produced by Celtic Art Industries. The piece is constructed from solid sterling silver and features a fan-shaped pommel with a central knotwork motif. The grip is decorated with a lozenge knotwork panel, and the downturned crossguard displays intricate interlaced Celtic knotwork with circular terminals. A central panel of continuous knotwork runs down the blade. The reverse is flat and stamped with the words IONA and A.R. alongside a stylized AR monogram. It further bears a vertical column of Edinburgh hallmarks including a thistle sterling mark, a castle city mark, a date letter e for 1960, and a CAI maker mark. Length: 22.5 cm.
