Floral Repousse Brass Heart Shaped Trinket Box - Used Condition - A heart-shaped trinket box featuring two-part construction with a pull-off lid and a matching base. The piece is crafted from yellow brass or a similar copper alloy, showing evidence of a silver-toned wash or plating that has worn away to reveal the underlying metal. The lid is decorated with ornate repousse and chased work, featuring a central floral motif of three daisy-like flower heads surrounded by scrolling foliage against a stippled ground. The base is undecorated and shows hammer marks from its hand-beaten construction. The interior of both sections shows natural oxidation and a darkened patina.
