A Trio of Late Victorian Salt-Glazed Stoneware Spirit Flagons - A trio of late 19th or early 20th-century salt-glazed stoneware spirit flagons, each of typical two-tone cylindrical form with a buff-coloured lower body and a tan or dark brown glazed shoulder and neck. The largest flagon features an incised stamp on the shoulder reading 1030 / A. LEADBETTER / WINE & SPIRIT IMPORTER / WYCOMBE, identifying it as a commercial vessel for a merchant based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The first of the smaller flagons features a single loop handle and an incised shoulder stamp reading 25 / DAFFORN & SON / STAMFORD, referring to the firm of merchants based in Stamford, Lincolnshire. The second smaller flagon is of similar form with a loop handle and a dark mahogany-toned glaze on the shoulder; no markings are visible on this example.
