A Collection of Five Antique Copper and Brass Bed Warming Pans with Turned Wooden Handles - An assortment of five antique bed warming pans. The items comprise circular copper pans with domed, hinged lids, one of which is constructed of brass. The lids are decorated with various pierced and embossed designs intended for the ventilation of heat from hot embers. Each pan is attached to a long, lathe-turned wooden handle via a metal ferrule. The collection includes three handles with a dark ebonised finish and two with a natural polished wood finish, possibly mahogany or fruitwood. No maker's marks or inscriptions are discernible on the pans or handles.
