A Collection of Silver and Silver-Plated Tableware Including a Sterling Silver Egg Cup - A collection of tableware items comprising a sterling silver egg cup and three silver-plated pieces. The sterling silver egg cup is of a classic pedestal form with a flared rim. The side of the bowl is struck with four hallmarks: the first is an illegible makers mark; the second is the lion passant mark for sterling silver; the third is an anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office; and the fourth is an illegible date letter. The collection also includes a silver-plated wirework toast rack with five arched divisions and a central rectangular base, showing small illegible marks to the lower side bar. A silver-plated dwarf candlestick is included, featuring a weighted circular base, a waisted stem, and a stepped sconce. Completing the lot is a small silver-plated twin-handled bowl of oval form with a lobed body and scrolled handles, possibly used as an open salt or sugar basin.
