A Derby Porcelain Cobalt Blue and Gilt Regency Serving Platter - An early 19th-century Regency-period porcelain serving platter of elongated oval form, produced by the Derby factory. The platter is decorated with a wide cobalt blue border, heavily embellished with hand-painted neoclassical gilding comprising scrolling foliage, anthemia, and floral motifs. A gilded foliate starburst medallion is situated at the centre of the well. The underside displays hand-painted marks in iron-red consisting of a crown above crossed batons with dots in the quadrants, a scrolling character, and the number 43. Length: 39.5 cm.
