Wedgwood Bone China Jesus College Cambridge Quincentenary Commemorative Plate - A circular bone china display plate manufactured by Wedgwood to commemorate the quincentenary of Jesus College, Cambridge. The plate features a central transfer-printed and enamelled crest for the college, depicting a cock perched upon a globe. This central motif is flanked by two yellow scrolls; the scroll on the left is inscribed with the motto ITER FACIAS PROSPERUM and the scroll on the right displays the dates 1496-1996. The text Coll: Jesu: Cant: is printed below the crest. The wide border is decorated in a traditional Imari style, featuring blue-edged scalloped panels, red cross-hatched sections, and floral sprays in shades of pink, red, and blue. The reverse of the plate bears a printed mark in black including the Wedgwood Portland vase logo with a W inside a laurel wreath, the text WEDGWOOD, Bone China, MADE IN ENGLAND, and © WEDGWOOD. There is a small printed 84 to the left of the main factory mark.
