A Collection of Spode Blue Room Collection Italian Pattern Tableware - This collection of ceramic tableware is from the Spode Blue Room Collection, featuring the classic Italian pattern first introduced circa 1816. The pieces are crafted from earthenware and decorated using an underglaze blue transfer-printing technique from hand-engraved copper plates. The pattern depicts a rural Italian landscape with classical ruins and figures, set within an intricate floral border. The assortment includes a rounded teapot with a lid, a tall coffee or chocolate pot with a lid, a lidded sugar bowl, a cream jug, a large breakfast cup and saucer, several standard teacups, a stack of side plates, a small twin-handled lidded tureen on a matching stand, and several small individual butter pats or coasters. The underside of the pieces bears the printed mark: THE SPODE BLUE ROOM COLLECTION 'ITALIAN' FIRST INTRODUCED c. 1816 Underglaze print from a hand engraved copper plate. Spode ENGLAND.
