A 1930s Wade Heath Cellulose Painted Ceramic Figurine of Dolly Varden - A mid-20th-century pottery figurine produced by Wade Heath, depicting Dolly Varden, a character from the Charles Dickens novel Barnaby Rudge. The figure is modelled in an 18th-century style costume with a lattice-patterned skirt and a large ruffled collar, wearing a floral-trimmed bonnet and holding a large muff. The figurine is finished with overglaze cellulose enamel paint. The base displays a blue transfer-printed Wade mark and a red backstamp featuring a leaping stag with the text Made in England. The title Dolly Varden is hand-painted in script on the underside, alongside the decorator marks 9i and 8.
