Chinoiserie Style Red Composition Swiss Mechanical Desk Clock - A square desk clock with rounded corners, featuring a red composition case decorated with Chinoiserie motifs in relief. The decorative elements include stylized swirling clouds, a dragonfly, and aquatic reeds, highlighted with white and metallic pigments. The circular cream-coloured dial is set with black Arabic numeral hour markers and a railroad-style outer minute track. It features a sunken sub-seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position with markers at ten-second intervals, and is fitted with black spade-shaped hour and minute hands. The reverse of the clock has a circular brass movement housing with a hinged easel stand. The back of the movement is stamped with an arched mark that appears to read ETHODIS, beneath which is stamped SWISS MADE. A single letter S is impressed into the metal near the winding crown. The clock contains a manual-wind Swiss mechanical movement and is a non-chiming model.
