An amethyst glass pitcher with white enamel decoration of a boy in a landscape - A Mary Gregory style amethyst glass pitcher of bulbous form, tapering to a narrow neck with a flared rim and a pinched pouring spout. The vessel is fitted with an applied clear glass C-scroll handle and rests on a low, circular pedestal foot. The front of the pitcher is decorated with hand-painted white enamel depicting a young boy in nineteenth-century attire walking through a stylized landscape featuring a large fern-like tree and rolling hills. There are no visible maker marks, signatures, or labels on the exterior of the piece. The base is not visible in the provided image, so the pontil mark cannot be determined. The deep amethyst colour of the glass is translucent.
