Bidspirit auction | A Trio of Antique Metalware

A Trio of Antique Metalware Vessels Including a Tinned Copper Aftaba and a Pewter Tankard - A collection of three antique metal vessels of diverse styles. The lot includes a Middle Eastern tinned copper pitcher, or aftaba, featuring a hand-hammered bulbous body with chased and repousse decoration, most notably a central paisley motif within a teardrop-shaped border. It has a slender neck, a flared rim with a pinched pouring spout, and an S-curve cast handle riveted to the body. Also included is a copper alloy flask with a two-tiered bulbous body decorated with incised concentric lines, a long cylindrical neck, and a heavy ring handle terminal. The third item is a large pewter tankard of cylindrical form with a flared foot and a simple D-shaped handle. There are several small indentations near the upper rim of the tankard that appear to be touchmarks or verification stamps; however, these are too worn to be legible and do not spell out a maker name.
