A Collection of Twelve William Morris and Althorp Fine Bone China Trinket Boxes - An English fine bone china collection of twelve lidded trinket and pill boxes of varied forms, including heart-shaped, hexagonal, rectangular, oval, and round examples. The majority of the items feature transfer-printed Arts and Crafts style floral and foliate patterns, such as Strawberry Thief and Willow Bough designs, each finished with a gilded rim. One oval box is a commemorative piece featuring a pale blue ground with a central white silhouette profile of Diana, Princess of Wales, framed by a laurel wreath. The bases bear printed black backstamps. Several boxes feature a circular mark reading THE WILLIAM MORRIS COLLECTION around the border with FINE BONE CHINA and MADE IN ENGLAND to the centre. The commemorative box features two marks: one beneath the lid showing a three-feather crest above the word ALTHORP and the date 2000, and a base mark including a Spencer family crest above text reading Taken from the Temple at Althorp, home of the Spencer family since 1508 and MADE IN ENGLAND.
