The figure is depicted in a standing pose and is constructed with a grey mohair and cotton blend covering, consisting of 55% mohair and 45% cotton, with a 100% polyester filling. It features small black bead eyes and a braided rope tail. The toy retains its original identification markings, including a yellow ribbon ear tag reading in red embroidered text Made in Germany by Steiff KNOPF IM OHR. The reverse of this tag is printed Eli Elefant 11 and 040498. A gold-coloured metal button is fastened through the yellow ear tag.
