Peter Barrett for Franklin Porcelain The Nuthatch Hand Painted Bisque Bell - A Franklin Porcelain hand-painted bisque porcelain decorative bell titled The Nuthatch, designed by Peter Barrett. The bell is surmounted by a figural Red-breasted Nuthatch, depicted with a blue-grey back, rufous-orange breast, and characteristic black and white striped head plumage. The waist of the bell is decorated with a three-dimensional high-relief moulding of evergreen branches and pinecones. The base of the bell is finished with a gold-toned gilt rim. The interior contains a white ceramic clapper suspended from a metal wire. The interior of the bell bears a printed black mark reading THE NUTHATCH by, followed by a cursive signature reading Peter Barrett, and the copyright information 1983 FP.
