Bidspirit auction | A Franklin Porcelain Goldcrest bird
A Franklin Porcelain Goldcrest bird bell designed by Peter Barrett dated 1980 - This hand-painted bisque porcelain decorative bell features a realistically modelled Goldcrest bird perched atop the handle. The bird is depicted with olive-green and yellow plumage, black and white wing bars, and a characteristic orange and yellow crown stripe. It rests on a branch adorned with white blossoms and green leaves that extend down the side of the bell body. The bell is finished with a thin gold-gilt band around the base. The interior contains a clapper composed of a white ceramic bead suspended by a metal wire from a loop at the top. The interior of the bell bears a printed mark in black ink consisting of a bird silhouette above the words THE GOLDCREST followed by by and the signature Peter Barrett.
