Bidspirit auction | Gray's Pottery Hanley-on-Trent Earthenware Wall
Gray's Pottery Hanley-on-Trent Earthenware Wall Pocket with Wheat Pattern - A flared earthenware wall pocket featuring a flat reverse designed for wall mounting. The ceramic body is finished in a cream glaze and decorated to the front with a stylized naturalistic motif of wheat stalks and blades of grass. The design is rendered in a muted sepia-toned brown, complemented by simple horizontal bands at the rim and the footed base. The reverse features two circular mounting holes for suspension. A printed mark in dark pigment is positioned between the mounting holes on the reverse, reading GRAY'S POTTERY, HANLEY-ON-TRENT, ENGLAND. Below this is a hand-painted pattern number A3102 and the painted initials (KT), likely identifying the decorator.
