The decorative central motif is framed by fine milgrain beaded borders to both the upper and lower edges. The interior of the band is struck with a series of British hallmarks. A rectangular cartouche contains the fineness mark 375, alongside a crown standard mark for gold. Further marks include a leopard's head indicating the London Assay Office and a lowercase date letter a in a specific typeface. A separate rectangular maker's mark contains the initials LD.
