Traditional Cast Brass Scalloped Horse Brass with Cobalt Blue Glass Cabochon - A traditional English horse brass of circular form, cast in brass with an integrated rectangular attachment loop. The outer rim features a scalloped edge with sixteen pierced circular holes. The centre is dominated by a raised, domed cabochon of cobalt blue glass. Set into the centre of the glass is a brass sunburst or star motif with a central raised boss. The reverse of the brass reveals the casting texture and a central area of lead or solder where the decorative centre is secured to the main body. No maker's marks or inscriptions are visible on the front or reverse surfaces. Diameter: 7.5 cm Total length including loop: 9 cm.
