Bidspirit auction | Antique Convertible Wooden Childs High
Antique Convertible Wooden Childs High Chair with Cast Iron Wheels - A late Victorian to early 20th century convertible childs high chair constructed from a light-coloured hardwood. The chair features ring-turned legs, spindles, and arm supports. It has a solid rectangular seat and a wide, tapered back splat. A semi-circular swinging wooden tray is attached to the uprights by two turned arms. Below the seat is a fixed two-rung footrest. The frame incorporates a central metal hinge, allowing the chair to be lowered and transformed into a low play table and chair unit. Four spoked cast-iron wheels are attached to the lower frame to enable mobility when in the converted position. No makers marks, labels, or stamps are visible on any of the surfaces.
