Bidspirit auction | A Pair of 19th Century

A Pair of 19th Century Treacle Glazed Pottery Boot Flasks - A pair of Victorian-era earthenware flasks modelled as high-sided ankle boots. Each piece is finished in a rich, glossy dark brown treacle or Rockingham-type glaze. The forms feature a square, slightly upturned toe and a narrow, flanged neck at the top. The front of each boot is decorated with moulded detailing representing eyelets and laces. These items are typical of 19th-century novelty pottery wares produced in Britain and North America, often used as spirit flasks or mantle ornaments. No maker's marks or factory stamps are visible on the pieces.
