An Assortment of Vintage Domestic Items Including a Tambour Mantle Clock, Manfield's Compax Shoe Trees, and Hand Scales - A collection of vintage domestic and personal items. The lot features a wood-cased mantle clock of tambour form with a mahogany-coloured finish and a light-toned wood inlay border around the dial. The circular silvered dial features black Arabic numerals, openwork spade hands, and two winding apertures, with a fast/slow adjustment slot above the twelve o'clock position. The collection includes several pairs of adjustable metal shoe trees. Two of these are embossed with the text MANFIELD'S COMPAX TREE. The shoe trees are constructed from aluminium and steel with mechanical tension springs and circular ventilation holes. Also included is a set of hand-held balance scales comprising brass pans and a crossbeam with cord suspensions and a stone or lead weight. A notable item is a cylindrical object wrapped in heavy brown paper, which partially reveals a dark textile featuring an ornate woven pattern. The paper wrapping bears various markings, including handwritten and stamped postal information. Legible characters include PARK HILL, NEWCASTLE-U-LYME, STAFFS., ENGLAND and FROM: MALAYA. The lot is completed by a small pair of opera glasses with cream-coloured barrels and dark metal hardware, along with various small metal and glass containers.
