A Large Set of Transfer Printed Earthenware Tableware with Pastoral Scenes - A comprehensive set of earthenware tableware featuring multi-coloured transfer-printed decoration. The pattern consists of various pastoral and village scenes in brown tones, framed by a distinctive green-edged border with a repeating motif of scrolled vines and fruit. The central vignettes depict traditional rural subjects, including a farmyard scene with a figure tending to horses and dogs, and various architectural views of cottages and outbuildings. The service includes: Several stacks of dinner plates Multiple soup or pasta bowls An assortment of side and salad plates A group of teacups and matching saucers A gravy boat with a coordinating oval underplate A large cream or milk jug A lidded sugar bowl Multiple small circular dishes or butter pats The forms are traditional with scalloped edges on the plates and bowls. The hollowware pieces, such as the jug and gravy boat, feature scrolled handles and flared rims consistent with 20th-century English ironstone production.
