A Group of Metalware Including a Brass Fire Screen Oval Tray and Hanging Lamp Frame - A collection of metalware comprising a fire spark guard, a large oval tray, and a suspended oil lamp frame. The semi-circular fire spark guard is constructed with a heavy brass or copper outer rim supporting a woven wire mesh centre, featuring a simple loop handle at the crest. The mesh is secured to the frame with twisted wire ties. The large oval tray is composed of brass with evidence of a silver-toned surface plating. It features an elaborately etched central field with foliate scrolls and a stylised cartouche, enclosed by a raised beaded or gadrooned rim with a pierced decorative handle to one side. The suspended brass oil lamp frame is designed for a pendant fitting, featuring a circular collar to receive a font and a twisted wire yoke rising to a hanging loop. The lamp frame has been previously converted to electricity, with a length of modern three-core electrical cable (brown, blue, and green/yellow) protruding from the top. No maker's marks are visible on any of the items.
