Propaganda Poster USA USSR Nuclear Arms Race Cold War Photomontage. Original vintage anti-nuclear propaganda poster featuring a photomontage by the English political artist Peter Kennard (b. 1949) depicting a gas mask on a globe, with United States and Soviet Union flags for eyes and nuclear missiles sticking out of the mouth cover. From the late 1940s until the gradual cooldown with Gorbachev's perestroika and the fall of the Soviet Union the United States and the USSR were in a state of geopolitical tension known as the Cold War, with a tense nuclear arms race competition for supremacy in nuclear warfare between the two sides in the 1980s. Good condition, folds, crease marks, pinholes. Country of issue: UK, designer: Peter Kennard, size (cm): 42x30, year of printing: 1983.
