Propaganda Poster Anti UK USSR Punch The New Law WWII. Original vintage World War Two propaganda poster against the UK and the USSR showing a cartoon cover from the weekly English political satire magazine Punch or The London Charivari (1841-2002) dated February 19, 1930 with the heading - The New Law. Soviet. "Thou Shalt Have No Other God But Me." - translated into Dutch on the red borders. Great design by the illustrator Sir John Bernard Partridge (1861-1945) featuring a caricature of a man holding a hammer in one hand and a blood soaked sickle in his other hand, sitting on a throne with a vulture on the back, the man's feet resting on a broken church cross and religious icon with smoke rising and people fallen in the background in front of spires in the distance, to depict the hypocrisy of the British support of the Soviet Union in the war against Nazi Germany. Large size. Good condition, restored folds, small tears and minor paper loss, backed on linen. Country of issue: Netherlands, designer: Bernard Partridge, size (cm): 119x89, year of printing: 1942.
