Reckitt and Sons was a leading British manufacturer of household products, including starch, black lead, laundry blue, and polish, based in Kingston upon Hull. Founded by Isaac Reckitt in 1840, it became a private company in 1879 and went public in 1888. The company expanded through the late 19th and early 20th centuries, merging with starch competitor J. & J. Colman in 1938 to form Reckitt & Colman. Colman's food business was later sold, and in 1999, Reckitt merged with Benckiser to create Reckitt Benckiser. As of 2021, manufacturing continues at its original Dansom Lane site in Hull.
