Travel Poster Cheshire British Railways Lander See Britain By Train - Original vintage travel poster for Cheshire published by British Railways London Midland Region as part of the iconic See Britain by Train campaign. The vibrant, mid-century artwork by the prolific British commercial designer Reginald Montague Lander (1913-1980) features a masterful montage composition, cleverly weaving together the county’s rich heritage and leisure offerings through a series of interlocking vignettes, anchored by the striking black-and-white timbered architecture of Little Moreton Hall and the ornate Eastgate Clock in Chester. These historic landmarks are juxtaposed with colourful symbols of modern 1950s recreation, including a sailing boat, a seaside bucket and spade, and a red-and-white striped sun umbrella. The lower margin features the classic See Britain by Train slogan alongside the iconic British Railways logo. Printed in Great Britain by McCorquodale & Co., London. Good condition, folds, creasing, tears, minor staining, tape marks. Country of issue: UK, designer: Reginald Montague Lander, size (cm): 102x64, year of printing: 1950s.
