Travel Poster Ely Cathedral Hereward The Wake Lance Cattermole - Original vintage British Railways travel poster promoting Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, featuring a dramatic composition by the noted British painter and illustrator Lance Cattermole (1898-1992), depicting the legendary Anglo-Saxon leader Hereward the Wake standing defiantly in a fenland reedbed, shouting in battle with a raised silver shield and a burning torch in hand as arrows rain down around him.
