A Russian batik "Novodevichy Convent", hand-painted on cotton with access to the frame. The picture represents a single harmonious whole with the frame. Signed at the lower right with the initials "SD" (Cyrillic) and on the back of the painting. Artist Sergey Davydov (born in 1955) is a leading artist of contemporary art of artistic textiles in Russia, the founder of new styles and techniques in the art of painting fabric.
