MAURO QUEZADA MATA ORTIZ EFFIGY OWL POTTERY BOWL
A fine vintage Mata Ortiz owl effigy pot by renowned master potter Mauro C. Quezada, circa the late 1900s. The bowl is beige with a rounded body and a neck modeled in the shape of an owl's head, decorated with dynamic geometric patterns in dark brown and terracotta colors. Signed on the base: Mauro C. Quezada. The youngest son of Consolacion Quezada, Mauro Quezada is also a potter from Mata Ortiz. He started making and painting ollas when he was about seven years old.
