ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD HINAMATSURI DOLL
A traditional Japanese Hinamatsuri Ningyo doll for traditional Girls Day celebration, Meiji period 1868 to 1912. The doll depicts a Japanese empress wearing elaborately embroidered clothing. Mounted on a rectangular wooden stand bearing a hieroglyphic signature. Usually parents receive such a doll on the first birthday of their child.
