RUSSIAN PAINTING OF BOGATYRS AFTER VIKTOR VASNETSOV
Oil on canvas painting depicting three medieval warriors on horseback in the field. The painting depicts three heroes - Dobrynya Nikitich, Ilya Muromets, and Alyosha Popovich, the main characters of Russian folklore epics. The lot is a hand copy of an 1898 artwork titled Bogatyrs by Viktor Vasnetsov, 1848-1926, a Russian artist who specialized in mythological and historical subjects. The painting is considered one of the Russian art classics and is permanently exhibited in the Tretyakov gallery. Golden frame. Russian Fine Art For Collectors.
