MID CENT PERSIAN MARQUETRY KHATAM KARI WOODEN BOX
A mid-20th century Persian square wooden box decorated in Khatam technique. The piece is fully decorated with a classic geometrical star pattern in red, black, and green with golden accents. The edges are gilt. The cover is decorated with a figurative finial. The inside of the box is lined with red velvet. Khatam Kari, or Khatamkari, is a Persian art of marquetry or mosaic inlay using small pieces of metal, wood or natural materials. Oriental Arabic Islamic Decor, Trinket Boxes And Storage.
