HENRYK STAZEWSKI ABSTRACT ACRYLIC ON WOOD PAINTING
Henryk Stazewski, Polish, 1894 to 1988, round plate shaped acrylic painting on wood depicting an abstract composition, 1973. Signed and dated, on the backside. Henryk Stażewski was a Polish painter, writer, and visual artist. Stażewski's career spanned seven decades and he is considered a pivotal figure in the history of constructivism and geometric abstraction in Poland. Henryk Stazewski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw from 1913 to 1920. In the beginning of his carrier he painted still life and exhibited temporarily with the Formist group, 1922. Beside painting he was also engaged in book graphic, interior design, and scenography. He was also a member of the Community of Advertising Graphic Artists. One of a kind artwork.
