FRENCH BRONZE JOCKEY SCULPTURE AFTER PIERRE JULES
A high detailed bronze sculpture depicting a jockey on horseback, after the original sculpture by Pierre Jules Mene, French, 1810 to 1879. Mounted on a marble base. Unsigned. Circa: the first half of the 20th century. Pierre Jules Mene was a French sculptor and animalier. He is considered one of the pioneers of animal sculpture in the nineteenth century.
