ANTIQUE DUTCH PAINTING SCHOOL OF S. JOHANNES VAN DOUW
An oil on copper Old Master painting The Dentist, depicting a dentist with a patient at a casement. The School of Simon Johannes van Douw, Flemish, 1630 to 1677. Housed in a richly decorated giltwood and gesso frame with beautifully carved floral motifs. Simon Johannes van Douw was a Flemish painter and draftsman. His work ranges from Italianizing landscapes, equestrian skirmishes and battles to cattle market and hunting scenes. He worked in Antwerp, Middelburg and Rotterdam. One of a kind artwork.
