ANTIQUE RARE WOODBLOCK MANGA BY HOKUSAI DATES 1860
An antique rare manga by Hokusai, dates circa 1860 and created in the Ukiyo e style. The engraving consists of two parts located on one sheet. This original woodblock by Hokusai is a drawing of a firearm in which the Japanese of the 19th century had a great interest. Provenance: from the collection of Dr. Horacio Fabrega, Pittsburgh, PA. Ukiyo e is a genre of Japanese art that flourished from the 17th through 19th centuries. Its artists produced woodblock prints. The term ukiyo e translates as picture of the floating world.
