RUSSIAN TRADITIONAL LACQUERED KHOLUY TRINKET BOX
A vintage Russian traditional lacquered wooden trinket box of octagonal shape. Black ground color, red interior. The piece is handcrafted and depicts a Russian warrior on a red horse. Hand signed in Russian Kholui, Svyatogor. Kholuy miniature is a folk craft that developed in the village of Kholuy, Ivanovo region. The lacquer miniature is made with tempera on paper mache.
