ATTR TO NATALIA GONCHAROVA RUSSIAN OIL PAINTING
Attributed to Natalia Goncharova, Russian, 1881 to 1962, oil painting on board, Spring, 1911. Signed lower right. Signed with monogram, lower left. Framed. Additionally inscribed, titled, and dated, on the backside. Natalia Sergeevna Goncharova was a Russian avant garde artist, painter, costume designer, writer, illustrator, and set designer. She was a founding member of both the Jack of Diamonds, Moscows first radical independent exhibiting group, the more radical Donkeys Tail, and with Larionov invented Rayonism. She was also a member of the German based art movement Der Blaue Reiter. Her painting vastly influenced the avant garde in Russia.
