MF HUSAIN INDIAN PAINTING MOTHER TERESA WITH COA
Acrylic on canvas painting by Maqbool Fida Husain, 1915 to 2011, an Indian Modernist artist known for his explorations of Indian culture and the history of British Raj. The artwork depicts a faceless figure of Mother Teresa and a white dove. Untitled. Signed by the artist lower left. The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity, also signed by the artist. Husain first painted the revered figure of Mother Teresa in 1980, shortly after she had been awarded the Noble Peace Prize and the Bharat Ratna, Indias highest civilian award. He was deeply moved by her compassion and charity towards the vulnerable, sick and poor, and he revisited her as a subject in his painting over the following decades.
