MODERN AMERICAN OIL PAINTING BY IRVING DOCKTOR
Irv Docktor, American, 1918 to 2008, oil painting on board depicting an Expressionist composition. Signed lower right. Framed. Irving Seidmon Docktor was an American artist and educator best known for his work as a book and magazine illustrator in the 1950s and 1960s. An early work on the history of paperbacks identified Docktor and Edward Gorey as executing some of the most interesting and appealing cover designs in the field. Modern American Fine Art, Expressionist and Abstract Paintings, and Collectibles. One of a kind artwork.
