VIKTOR DENI RUSSIAN SOVIET NEWSPAPER CARTOON PAINTING
Ink on paper painting by Viktor Deni, 1893 to 1946, a Russian Soviet era satirist, cartoonist and poster artist. Deni was one of the major agitprop poster artists of the Bolshevist period. This lot is a sketch for the Crocodile magazine. The piece represents a fist in fig sign. Titled Get It in the lower right. Signed by the artist and dated 1924 in the upper left. Additional handwriting below, a multi-figure scene sketch on the backside. Matted. Collectible Graphic Art, Illustration, Soviet Historical Relics.
