AMERICAN PAINTING AFTER GEORGE CATLIN WHIRLING THUNDER
After George Catlin, American, 1796 to 1872, an oil painting on board, depicting Nah-se-us-kuk, Whirling Thunder, the eldest son of the famed Sauk leader Black Hawk. Housed in a case along with 1849 newspaper clippings and typed information referencing George Catlins time at Fort Union, Yellowstone. The piece reflects Catlins dedication to documenting the lives and cultures of Native peoples during his extensive travels in the American West. American Paintings And Art Collectibles.
