Francis Bacon, Irish, British, 1909 to 1992, signed limited edition etching. The artwork depicts an Expressionist dark male portrait. Numbered 23 of 60 and hand-signed in pencil lower to the center. Matted and framed. Francis Bacon was an Irish born British figurative painter known for his raw, unsettling imagery. Focusing on the human form, his subjects included crucifixions, portraits of popes, self portraits, and portraits of close friends, with abstracted figures sometimes isolated in geometrical structures.
