Early 20th Century Paper and Card Postcard Album Including Mabel Lucie Attwell Signed Illustrations - An early 20th-century postcard album dating from approximately 1900 to 1935. The bound volume contains black paper pages with die-cut corner slots housing thirty-six visible postcards. The collection includes a diverse range of subjects, notably artist-signed comic illustrations bearing the printed signature MABEL LUCIE ATTWELL and two fine-art style female portraits signed A. Asti in the lower corners. Topographical views include photographic and tinted scenes of UK locations such as Largs, Bournemouth, North Berwick, and a street scene of Renfrew, with some cards bearing the Valentine’s Series publisher mark. Theatrical ephemera is represented by portraits of Miss Gertie Millar and Miss Sadie Jerome. A novelty card for The Feathered World depicts fancy pouter pigeons and is dated May 29, 1908. Other cards feature motoring safety, seaside humour, and religious motifs. No manufacturer marks are visible on the album binding.
