Mid-20th Century Doll in Period Dress - A large-scale doll dating from the mid-20th century, approx.1940s. The doll is constructed from composition with a painted finish and features a five-piece jointed body with movement at the neck, shoulders, and hips. It is fitted with an auburn-coloured curly wig and blue weighted sleep eyes with eyelashes that close when the doll is laid flat. The facial features are painted, showing arched eyebrows and an open mouth with visible upper teeth. The doll is dressed in a period-style white cotton short-sleeved dress, featuring a tiered lace collar and red piping at the waist and sleeves. Footwear consists of blue leatherette lace-up shoes with white laces and cream-coloured trim, and a small gold-toned metal brooch is attached to the collar. No maker's marks, manufacturer signatures, or country-of-origin stamps are visible on the head or body.
