Art Deco Cast Iron and Red Velvet Single Tip-Up Cinema Seat From Lancaster Cinema - A mid-20th-century cinema single tip-up seat featuring an Art Deco style cast iron frame. The frame is finished in a gold-toned paint and supports a seat and backrest upholstered in a deep red plush velvet. The seat retains its original folding mechanism and has been mounted onto two stained wooden floor runners to allow for freestanding use in a domestic setting. The cast iron side supports exhibit decorative scrollwork and integrated armrests with matching velvet padding. Raised cast characters are present on the interior side of the right-hand iron support near the pivot point, though they are not clearly legible.
